What can I claim?
Taxpayers with rental properties incur a number of expenses. Most of these are completely tax deductible. These expenses include:

Following a recent computer upgrade, the ATO is now experiencing significant delays processing income tax returns. If you lodged your return after 4 January 2010 then you are affected by this problem.
We are still waiting for assessment notices and tax refunds lodged after 4 January 2010.
Once we have received them, we will forward them onto our clients as quickly as possible. We have been advised by the ATO that all outstanding assessments should be processed by the end of the month

If you own a rental property, have invested in shares or operate a business then your tax return is going to be more complicated – and our fees will be higher.

Typically, a tax return takes between ten to fourteen days to be processed and assessed by the ATO.
